WARDOGS FOB Building Guide: Kit, Hammers & Supplies
Buy a Forward Operating Base kit from the vendor’s Items → Building category, carry it to the planned location and place it. Open the FOB for its Medium Hammer, then use the hammer’s build menu. Construction and operating the base require continuing supplies.

Budget for more than the base kit
The Season 1 FOB kit costs $7,500 and weighs 6.5 kg. Make room in a suitable backpack before adding it. The kit purchase is only the start: include transport, supplies and any separately purchased equipment in the plan.
Choose a location that supports the team’s current objective and that your supply vehicle can reach. Agree on its purpose before carrying a costly kit across the map. A protected approach and a usable delivery route matter as much as the walls you intend to build.
Place the FOB and start construction
- At the spawn vendor, open Items and the Building category. Add the FOB kit and check that it fits with your other equipment.
- Complete the purchase and move to the location agreed with your team.
- Equip the FOB kit, use its placement interaction and confirm the deployed base is accessible.
- Open the FOB and take the included Medium Hammer.
- Equip the hammer and right-click on PC to open the construction choices.
- Choose a structure your hammer can build and follow the placement preview within the FOB’s build area.
Choose the hammer for the structure
Hammer tiers unlock different construction choices. A Small Hammer supports basic structures; Medium expands the available walls and structures. Large is needed for advanced construction such as the Drill Rig and heavy defensive emplacements.
Large Hammer access requires Support level 8 and a $75,000 unlock payment in the Season 1 economy; its vendor purchase is $2,400. The one-time unlock and each purchased tool are separate costs. You can contribute to a base with smaller tools before taking on that expense.
| Equipment | Vendor purchase | One-time unlock | Track / level | Purchase unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Forward Operating Base | $7,500 | Not listed | Not listed | one FOB |
| Medium Hammer | Not listed | $25,000 | Support · level not listed | one tool |
| Large Hammer | $2,400 | $75,000 | Support 8 | one tool |
Leave space to enter, leave and supply the base
Build around the task the base serves. Protect important activity areas without blocking friendly movement or the route used to deliver supplies. Add usable entrances rather than sealing the team behind a wall.
Keep gates closed after moving through them. Before adding another defensive layer, walk the route from the entrance to the FOB and back out. If teammates cannot move or deliver resources conveniently, revise the layout before expanding it.
Construction resources and weapon ammunition are different needs
Building consumes supplies. When the base runs short, buy the needed building supplies at a vendor, transport them to the base and use the Unload Supplies Into FOB interaction.
Heavy weapons at a FOB also need replenishment. Do not assume a completed emplacement has unlimited ammunition, or that one kind of delivery satisfies every resource request. Check what the base and its operators actually need before making the next trip.
Coordinate deliveries with the people using the base. A smaller functioning FOB with repeatable resupply can be more useful than expanding structures faster than the team can keep them supplied.
If you cannot build what you selected
Check four things in order: the tool you equipped, whether that tier offers the structure, the placement preview and build area, and the supplies available. Clear obstructions or reposition the preview before buying another tool.
If the intended structure needs a Large Hammer and you have not unlocked one, work on the parts your current hammer supports or coordinate with a teammate who has the needed tool. Keep personal unlock spending separate from the base’s resource shortage.
